The Company operates two cGMP manufacturing facilities in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Souderton, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Yaniv Glazer has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry globally. He has held both commercial and strategic roles in several large pharmaceuticals and biotech companies, including EMD Serono, Merck &Co. and Schering Plough. He has gained diverse knowledge in many therapeutic areas such as multiple sclerosis, pain, rheumatology, and gastroenterology where he launched and was the commercial lead for both drugs and medical devices in these areas.
Mr. Glazer holds an MBA and a BSc in Life Science from Tel Aviv University in Israel.
Formerly VP of R&D, Dr. Light has been promoted recently to the position of Chief Science Officer. In his tenure with OPK Biotech, he has launched a number of key research relationships. In his new position, he is responsible for the development and the oversight of all the Company's scientific programs, strategic alliances, and aids in the development of the clinical research plan.
Dr. Light has over 20 years of managerial and analytical experience in the cGMP commercialization of pharmaceutical products. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Rice University, a BA in Chemistry and a BS in Biology from Washington and Lee University. He holds numerous patents relating to hemoglobin-based solutions.
Mr. Scott has over 25 years of marketing and sales experience across the globe, with Merck, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Biopure Corporation prior to joining OPK Biotech. He led Bristol-Myers Squibb in South Africa, successfully turning around an under-performing business. He led the commercial efforts for Oxyglobin and Hemopure in approved markets, and managed the relationship during the Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC) for the development of HBOC-201 for trauma resuscitation. He holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Institute of Marketing Management in South Africa.
